The Foundation Stone Meditation and its Rhythms Workshop

The Foundation Stone Meditation and its Rhythms

Kolisko Institute Annual Workshop

October 19-22, 2017, Pewaukee, WI

If you have read this information below already, you can register HERE

The Christmas Conference of December 1923/January 1924, and the resulting esoteric impulses flowing from it, are the pinnacle of Rudolf Steiner’s work.

We hope to work deeply on this complicated theme – the Foundation Stone and the following seven Rhythms given by Rudolf Steiner for every day of the week. He hoped that they “would never leave us again”.

A few of the important questions to consider are:

  • Why was the event of the Christmas Conference of December 1923/24 so important to Rudolf Steiner? Can we make a renewed effort to approach and understand its esoteric substance?
  • How can the threefold and sevenfold principles of the FS lead to us to practical applications in medicine; eurythmy; meditation; TAO, and more?
  • What is the connection of the FS to the 1st Class of the School; do we need to rethink some “old habits”?
  • How can we approach these fundamental concerns through eurythmy?

Our intention is to focus our work from the viewpoint of “practice, practice, practice” through intense presentations, eurythmy exercises and group discussions/efforts.

We would also like to invite contributions to the theme from guests. (This is indeed an infinite theme and we are sure that there a lot of friends who have spent many hours of labor of love on this topic. If you have a presentation to make, please call us at the Institute and we will see if we can accommodate your contribution into the program.)

The eurythmic exercises which we will become familiar with at the conference are meant to be continued at home.  (They will include movements related to the indications given by Rudolf Steiner on the TAO).

Main contributing faculty: R. Rentea MD, Mark Kamsler MD, Andrea Rentea MD, Eurythmist Barbara Bresette-Mills, and violinist Jeremy Klapper MD.

Much more importantly than just adding intellectual information will be the achieving of a feeling and will filled knowledge (corresponding to the German word “Erkennen”).

Specifically for this topic fruitful insights can be more readily achieved if communal work accompanies the solitary study.

This is a unique opportunity to actively participate in “practice, practice, practice” of the Ego, Soul and Etheric body, in order to truly deepen our experience of the Foundation Stone and its Rhythms.

We hope to see you there,

The Kolisko Institute Team

Conference Administrative Details

We will assume that all participants will have a familiarity (however small) with the Foundation Stone lecture of December 25th  1923 (given in the morning) and the following seven rhythms given by Rudolf Steiner in the following week. You can find the texts f. ex. in “The Christmas Conference for the Foundation of the General Anthroposophical Society 1923/1924”, Anthroposophic Press 1990. Many other sources and translation are available. We will include our translation in the conference folder.

Since later contributions will rely on practice and thoughts shared earlier in the conference, and in order to foster a real group feeling, we suggest participation from the very beginning of the conference.

Conference Fee (includes all meals):

  • By July 31 (early registration)……..$275 (No refunds with the early registration!)
  • As of August 1st…………$425 (Cancellation refunds minus a $50 administrative fee granted prior to September 15th.)

May we suggest that all who can -whether you attend or not – make a financial donation to be used for scholarships towards those who may not be able to attend without some financial support. Partial scholarship toward the conference fee will be granted to the extent possible.

Scholarships can be granted only to the extent that funds come in from friendly donors. If you would like to be considered for a scholarship please send a request to info@koliskoinstitute.org and we will let you know what is possible after September 1st. We want to urge everybody to ask for support from their respective local communities. Maybe you can be sent as a “representative” of that community to the conference and give a report afterwards as a thank you for their support. Please call us if you need help with such project.

All monies left after covering expenses (the three organizing physicians will not accept an honorarium) will be exclusively used to support the anthroposophic medical research.

All Meals: Vegetarian (Please indicate if you have specific food requirements. Returning to the States, she spent ten years teaching creative speech at the School of Eurythmy in Spring Valley, NY, and speaking for Eurythmy Spring Valley’s performing group. Then followed a search for the meaning of language in conversation: an MA from the Fordham School of Social Service and several years as a social worker. In 2002 she moved to Chicago to teach creative speech at the Seminary of the Christian Community during its years there (the spoken word as carrier of ritual). She also taught ESL to new immigrants.
